1. What's the difference between the Organizer History Worksheet and the Tournament History Worksheet?
- The Organizer History Worksheet gives a comprehensive view of the organizer's capabilities. Their experience running tournaments and at what levels, i.e., regional, local, etc.
- The Tournament History Worksheet gives a comprehensive look into the the specific tournament the organizer is bidding on. How long has it been around? Is participation growing? Etc.
2. Do I need to fill out both the Organizer History Worksheet and the Tournament History Worksheet?
- Yes - if you want to be able to earn points for these sections of the application, both need to be filled out using the templated provided.
3. Will local tournament be able to be held on weekends outside the designated local tournament weekend on the fixed calendar?
- Yes - the fixed calendar only designates which weekends will be local ONLY. Any weekend your division approves to host a local tournament, organizers will be able to host a local tournament.
4. Do I need to submit a bid for a local tournament?
- No - If you know you want to include local events in conjunction with your regional tournament, you should include that information in your regional bid. As the addition of local events could increase your strip numbers, referee hiring, and change your schedule. If you want to add local events after your bid as been approved, you'll just need to prove that your event can handle the additional load.
5. Can I utilize capping if my tournament has more than 15 events on any day?
- No - per a decision made and approved by the Tournament Committee, tournaments with more than 15 events per day will not be able to utilize caps.
6. Can I change the circuit combinations on any given weekend?
- No - The circuit combinations are set in the same manner that the weekends are set. If you would like to add local events to fill out a set combination, you can do that.
7. Can I host a three day tournament?
- Yes - the dates on the calendar indicate the fixed weekend. Organizers are free to add a day on either end of the weekend to accommodate for their tournament.
