Regional Tournament Coach Requirements

Per SafeSport rules and regulations, regional organizers are required to demonstrate that they are tracking the coaches that attend and participate in their tournaments. USA Fencing has provided a coaches check-in station through the regional organizer dashboard that will allow them to efficiently track coaches. It is not required that organizers use this function if they have another way to track coaches. 

Coach Requirements

1. Coaches must be credentialed/identified. Organizers can decide how they would prefer to identify coaches who meet the necessary requirements to coach at a regional tournament. Badges, wristbands, name tags, etc., will all work. 
2. Coaches must meet the follow requirements in order to receive the designated identifier.
   1. Current Membership 
   2. Current Background Check
   3. Current SafeSport Training
   4. Foundations of Fencing Certification 
3. Coaches must be tracked. Organizers must keep a list of coaches who have received the designated identifier. The check-in station function will automatically do this for organizers, if utilized. Keeping a manual list will also suffice. If audited by SafeSport, organizer will be required to provide this list to the US Center for SafeSport.
